Here I Go Again

I quit blogging a couple of years ago. Not sure why, maybe I thought no one was reading. So if you read this, please comment so I don't go into a two-year silence thinking about all the things I'd like to write about, but not motivated by an audience.

In quiet evenings hunched over the computer installed in our tv room closet, I think about so many people I know, have known, wondering about the pattern of their lives. Maybe someone ocassionally wonders about mine.

Mine has become pretty simple: gardening, trying to capture a butterfly or hummingbird with the camera, always amazed at the beauty around us; working with the youngest students at a local orphanage, hoping and praying they will catch on to not only the techniques of reading, but more importantly to the joy that the printed page can bring; ocassionally working with a private student; enjoying being a homebody in our condo home, making homemade soups and baking bread; reading the newspaper in Spanish, trying to make sense of the Bolivian politics; and lastly, trying to learn to be patient with a body that is slowing down at age 60. In all of these activities, trying to live out my faith and stretch myself personally.

As I write this I have a cast on my right hand (minor surgery). So I must have REALLY wanted to get this blog up again, since I am pecking so slowly at these keys. SO here goes, I press the "publish post" page. Now how do I let people know I'm back on the web?
